The Town of Garner's SmartGov Permit and Inspection Portal is now live! Use the portal to submit permit applications, pay development fees, view staff comments on electronic plan review, and request inspections from the Planning, Engineering, and Inspections departments. Please submit all new permit applications through the portal - we will no longer be accepting paper applications or plan sets. Submittals and re-submittals are now being accepted on a rolling basis.
We appreciate your patience as we transition applications and permits submitted before February 20, 2024 to the new system. All Planning submittals dating back to early December have been uploaded into the new system. Weekly Technical Review Committee meetings resumed on February 8 to complete plan reviews on a first come, first serve basis - however, it will take several weeks for staff to catch up.

Town of Garner uses Point & Pay, a third-party vendor, to accept online payment of development fees. Point & Pay assesses a convenience fee for all payments made by credit/debit cards or electronic check. This fee is paid to Point & Pay, not the Town. Fees are 3% for credit/debit cards (minimum $2) or a flat fee of $3.00 for E-checks.
